  When you installed POV-Ray, you answered "yes" to the question whether
POV-Ray could connect the internet periodically. Now you are answering "no".

  Perhaps you should read what the installation programs say to you?

  There shouldn't be any problem allowing POV-Ray to access the internet, if
you trust the pov-team. It checks for updates once a week, and I think that
the first time sends some information about your hardware for purely
statistical purposes.
